I adore Fall time. So many things to do with my little guy. A few weeks ago we made a trip to the pumpkin patch for Noah to pick out his "perfect pumpkin". This one was just his size :) And as his mommy I have to say, this boys eyes are going to break a lot of hearts!

Gigi's Little Guy
The past few months have been a bit rough on our family. In early September my mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. As it always does, it came as a shock to us. She has no family history and has had no reason to suspect it.
How do you react when you find out your mother is sick? There were many nights I would come home and just cry to Josh. The idea of losing her was beyond me. I can't imagine not having her there for not only my life events, but my children's. I need her. And although I didn't show it to her at the time, I was a mess.
If you know my mother you know she is tough and headstrong. I knew if anyone could get through this it was her.
Luckily she caught it early, and after surgery I am so happy to say she is cancer free! Yes, there is a long road ahead with recovery and lifestyle changes, but she will be here for a long long time.
A few days before surgery I took Mom and Noah into our backyard for a little photo session. Noah adores his Gigi, and I wanted to make sure she had a few pictures of them together to have.

I Heart Faces Challenge.....Let them be Little
This week's challenge on I Heart Faces is "Let them be Little". With a toddler I had a lot of perfect pictures for this one :)
This was taken a few weeks ago at the local fair. My brother in law John is a firefighter for our city. It is an understatement to say that Noah is OBSESSED with the firetruck. He begs to go visit John at the fire station and "drive the fire truck". (Yet when we get there he is scared to go to close to it!) Whenever we see John he always thinks John drove the fire truck over :)
I just love his boyhood wonder of the firetruck and how cool he finds his Uncle John for having one. This picture is great to me because it has the truck, but also his uncle in the background :)

I Heart Faces.....People's Choice
This week's challenge on I Heart Faces is a little different. There is not a specific theme, but your favorite image from the summer.
The best way to describe my summer is WEDDINGS! I have been so blessed to have lots of weddings this summer, and boy do I enjoy doing them :) There is just nothing better than getting to tell the story of a couples' day through photographs.
The one I chose is from one of my July weddings. I love this image because of the simplicity of it. Just two people in love, and the beautiful summer sun shining down. Great wedding, wonderful clients :)

Bateson Wedding
WOW! I am simply a terrible blogger! I apologize for my LACK of posting anything but photo challenges (and lets be honest, I've only been doing that because that is my only way of entering). It has been a very busy summer for me. Hard to believe that it was just a year ago that I got myself back into this whole mom-photog thing :) Now, with 8 weddings down and 2 to go this summer I slightly miss the simple life of being a purely "stay at home mom".....but then I wouldn't have wonderful weddings, families, couples, and children to ogle over ...and let me just say, I love to ogle :)
My goal is to get back into this blogging, and bring it down a notch on the facebooking.
So to get started, let me introduce you to the beautiful Jennifer and Nick. Longer ago than I am willing to admit, I had the opportunity to photograph their glorious wedding day :) Planned as an outdoor ceremony, indoor reception weather truly was an issue.
Let me just take a moment to apologize to ALL of my brides this summer. I seem to bring rain with me to wedding days this year.....for that I am truly sorry!
Anyways, all through putting on makeup, doing the hair, etc. we were watching it down pour. And Jen is a much better bride then I would have been! Not once did I see her panic over the weather. Somehow though, the rain cleared RIGHT before the ceremony, and the beautiful blue sky came out.
The day was wonderful. Jen and Nick are simply a kind, caring, and very in love couple. I was blessed to share in their day. Here is a look....

I Heart Faces Challenge.....A Touch of Sun
This weeks challenge on I Heart Faces is "A Touch of Sun". I adore this challenge! There is nothing I love more in a picture then a beautiful natural sunflare :) I think it adds such a spark to a picture. Here is a recent Senior Session of mine....
I love the way the sun peeks through this awesome vintage staircase!
